Our Mission Statement
Barron Park Preschool is committed to nurturing individuals in our diverse community. We honor the inherent sense of wonder, curiosity, and excitement for learning that all people share.
We take a 'whole child' approach to learning. We share with families our experience and knowledge of child development and provide teachers with a supportive atmosphere for personal and professional development. Empowering relationships, play-based learning, discovery, emergent curriculum, and the creative and scientific processes help us build our dynamic community of love, trust, and support.
Barron Park Preschool is a neighborhood preschool and child development center, located south of the Stanford campus, near the intersection of Page Mill and El Camino. The school is within walking distance of neighborhood parks and gardens.
Our center is a dynamic, play-based, emergent curriculum program that includes: daily art experiences, music and movement, outdoor time, dramatic play, circle time, plenty of time for self-guided play, and neighborhood walks.
The school's environment is child centered, rich with sensory and exploration opportunities.
Teacher-child relationships are based on respect, love, and shared enthusiasm.
Our daily routine is predictable and flexible, allowing plenty of time and opportunity for discovery and play.
Capacity and Teacher-Child Ratio
We are licensed for 24 children per day, with four teachers per day. Our program is grouped with mixed-ages for much of the day. Children are split into two groups for circle time, lunch and napping; a younger group made up of two- and three-year olds, and an older group of four- and five-year olds.
Barron Park Preschool is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
