Teacher + Owner
Kim has been owner of Barron Park Preschool since the fall of 2001. In addition to her administrative work, Kim continues to work in the classroom as a teacher. Kim excels at designing environments in which children can safely learn and explore. With over 20 years of experience educating and operating preschool/childcare centers as well as a degree in Creative Arts from San Jose State University, Kim has a rare understanding of the ways in which children perceive and interact with their world. Kim has led workshops and trainings on creativity and curriculum both locally and nationally and has been an early childhood development mentor teacher. Kim identifies herself first as a mother, and uses what she has learned as a mom to partner effectively with families and the community.
Master Teacher + Director
Craig has been a part of Barron Park Preschool since the school began in the Bay Area back in 1981, but feels he is only part of the way towards a lifetime of teaching and learning. Craig is a master teacher and educator - often sharing his experience by mentoring local collage students during their Early Childhood Education teaching practicum. Craig maintains his love of teaching by re-inventing his curriculum based on the needs of the children. The kids love his silly songs and playful natur - he is known for leading rousing choruses of "Matilda the Gorilla" and the kids' favorite, "Ghostriders," accompanied by his Q-chord. Craig is also a master story-teller and enjoys bringing nature into the classroom. Craig complements his experience with an outstanding and adventurous attitude and ongoing studies at local institutions. Although he is a veteran of education, he approaches each day with the eye of an apprentice.
